Sleeve Wrapper & Shrink Bundler

PE-film multipacks of bottles, cans and jars.

Sleeve Wrapper & Shrink Bundler
How it works

Built around your product

Products are collated into a pattern, wrapped in a sleeve of PE film from two reels and shrunk into a tight transit pack — with or without a tray or pad.

The product is enveloped in centre-folded or flat film and the open edges are sealed by a hot knife or impulse wire. In the tunnel, recirculated hot air shrinks the film evenly around the product. Polyolefin is used for retail display packs; polyethylene for heavier transit bundles.

Key features

  • Automatic collation, e.g. 3 × 2, 4 × 3
  • Film-only, pad or tray packs
  • Cooling fans set the film fast
  • Low-film alarm
Sealing typeSleeve seal bar, two-reel
Max pack size500 × 350 × 350 mm bundle
SpeedUp to 15 bundles/min
FilmPE, 40–100 µm
Machine cycle

Process sequence

Infeed

Products are spaced or collated into the pack pattern.

Wrap

Film is drawn around the product from one or two reels.

Seal

An L-bar, side-seal or cross-seal jaw closes and trims the film.

Shrink

The tunnel heats the film to its shrink temperature.

Cool

A cooling fan sets the film before discharge.

Questions

POF, PE or PVC film?
Polyolefin (POF) is clear, strong and food-safe — the default for retail. PE is thicker and used for bundling. PVC is declining because of fume and recycling concerns.
L-sealer or side-sealer?
An L-sealer suits low to medium speeds and limited pack lengths. A continuous side-sealer runs faster and has no limit on pack length.
Why do packs show “dog ears”?
Usually too much film at the corners or uneven tunnel airflow. Reducing bag size and adding vent perforations helps.
