Blow Moulding Machines

Extrusion, injection and stretch blow moulding for bottles, jars and jerrycans — ready for inline coding.

Also called bottle blowing machines, EBM, IBM and PET stretch blow moulders.

Blow Moulding Machines
Overview

What these machines do

Making containers next to the filling line removes freight on empty bottles. This range covers extrusion blow moulding for HDPE and PP, stretch blow moulding for PET, and injection blow moulding for small precision containers.

In extrusion blow moulding a tube of molten plastic — the parison — is captured by a mould and inflated. Stretch blow moulding reheats an injection-moulded PET preform, stretches it with a rod and blows it at high pressure, giving a strong, clear bottle. Injection blow moulding forms the neck by injection first, then blows the body, producing scrap-free containers with accurate necks.

Engravics offers 4 models of blow moulding machines: 5 litre extrusion blow moulding machine (BM-E5), jerry can blow moulding machine (BM-E30), PET bottle blowing machine (BM-S4), injection blow moulding machine (BM-I40). Machines are supplied and supported from Gurugram, Delhi NCR, to customers across India.

How it works

Process sequence

Plasticise

Resin is melted in the extruder, or preforms are reheated.

Form

A parison is extruded or the preform is transferred to the mould.

Blow

Compressed air inflates the plastic against the cooled mould.

Cool & eject

The container sets, the mould opens and the part is removed.

Trim & test

Flash is removed and bottles are leak-tested and coded.

FAQ

Common questions

Which process suits which bottle?
Extrusion blow for HDPE/PP bottles with handles and jerrycans; stretch blow for PET beverage and personal-care bottles; injection blow for small pharma and cosmetic containers.
How are blown bottles coded?
UV or CO2 laser coders mark directly on the bottle after moulding, or CIJ prints on the shoulder or base.
What utilities are needed?
Electrical power, chilled water for the moulds and compressed air — high-pressure air, up to 40 bar, for PET stretch blow.
