Wire, Cable & Pipe Coding & Packaging

Continuous metre marking on extrusions at full line speed.

Wire, Cable & Pipe Coding & Packaging
Overview

What wire, cable & pipe lines need

Extrusion never stops. The coder must print continuously on a curved, often dark, sometimes hot surface, and the mark must survive coiling, burial and sunlight.

Typical codes and marks

  • Sequential metre marks
  • Standards and rating text
  • Manufacturer and date codes
  • Logos and batch numbers
Challenges

What matters most

01

Continuous running

High-speed CIJ and lasers mark repeating text and metre counts without pauses.

02

Contrast on dark jackets

Pigmented inks print white or yellow on black cable; UV lasers change the jacket colour itself.

03

Durability

Laser marks cannot be rubbed off; specialised inks resist abrasion and plasticiser migration.
