Vertical form-fill-seal
VFFS makes the bag from a reel of film. Material cost per pack is the lowest and speeds are high. Bag styles are simpler and changeovers involve changing forming sets.
Premade pouch
Rotary machines fill pouches made elsewhere. Pouch cost is higher, but premium formats and quick size changes are easy.
Coding
Both give a stable position for a TTO, TIJ or laser coder before filling.
Decision
High volume of few SKUs points to VFFS. Many SKUs and premium shelf appeal point to premade pouches.
