Multi-Lane Sachet & Stick-Pack Machine

Single-serve sticks and sachets across four to ten lanes.

Multi-Lane Sachet & Stick-Pack Machine
How it works

Built around your product

One film reel is slit into lanes, each formed, filled and sealed in parallel. The FP-S40 packs sugar, instant coffee, sauces, gels and pharmaceutical powders in single-dose packs.

A vertical form-fill-seal machine pulls film over a forming collar to create a tube, seals the back and bottom, drops in the dose and seals the top while cutting the pack free. Rotary premade-pouch machines grip finished pouches and carry them through open, fill and seal stations. Flow wrappers do the same job horizontally for solid items.

Process sequence

Unwind

Film is unwound, tension-controlled and registered to the print mark.

Code

A TTO or laser prints date and lot on the moving web.

Form

The pouch is formed around a tube, or a premade pouch is opened.

Dose

A multihead weigher, auger or pump delivers the product.

Seal

Heated jaws seal and cut; packs discharge to the outfeed.

Questions

VFFS or premade pouch?
VFFS has the lowest pack cost and highest speed from rollstock. Premade-pouch machines handle premium formats — stand-up, zipper, spout — with quicker changeovers.
Which coder fits a form-fill-seal machine?
A thermal transfer overprinter is standard on film. Laser is used with laser-reactive patches or where ribbon-free operation is wanted.
What decides the speed?
Product flow, bag length and seal dwell time. Dosing is usually the bottleneck for powders and sticky products.
